| 1958 marks the beginning of Laplante Bus Line in the passenger transportation. Mr. Jean-Paul Laplante began with a van, driving students to the Casselman school. A year later, the demand had grown so much, that he had to buy a school bus. |
With the years, Jean-Paul Laplante continued to expand by purchasing school buses every two or three years. His four sons, Yvon, Marc, Mario and Gilles started working for the company as they came of age. They took over management in 1993 but Jean-Paul Laplante, to this day, continues as President of the company.
In 1965, Laplante Bus Line became Casselman Bus Line and in 1974 we were incorporated under the name of 417 Bus Line Ltd.
In 1972, we began a line run from Casselman to Ottawa with a 14 passenger van. Today, we have six coaches that transport passengers daily from the villages of Casselman/Embrun/
Limoges/Crysler/Bourget to Ottawa-Hull. |
 |
In 1990, 417 Bus Line added to the fleet, their first coach. Today, we have 18 coaches and mini-coaches.
In 2005, the 417 Bus Line Ltd. family which now includes Lalonde Bus Line, Matte Bus Line and Larocque Bus Line, has a float of 153 units, which include school buses and coaches. We also acquired two coaches from Autobus Dufresnes plus the rights for pick-ups in Montreal as well as a partnership with Excel Tours Inc.
